From Reckless, Into The Fire November 29, 2007

While for most fans of Pop & Rock music, Bryan Adams’ music has defined our teen/college years, his music has been so popular that its unfortunately been played ad nauseum, stripping it of some of its clean, songwriting beauty.
Fortunately his Into The Fire album has been spared the unrelenting airplay, although I would rate it among his best works. Released in 1987, the album was sandwiched between two of his biggest commercial successes, Reckless and Waking Up The Neighbours (WUTN), which is probably why its not considered a huge success. Yet, its probably his most “honest” music. The songs (music and lyrics) come across as a lot more “straight from the heart” and have a more raw, edgy feel, compared to the more factory-made sounds of his post WUTN music.
My undoubted favourite is Native Son, a song about the plight of North American Native Indians. No fancy production tricks, just a simple, clean structure and melody. Heat of the Night, Into the Fire and Rebel are fantastic too.
If you long for the original, earthy, rocker-next-door, white-tshirt-blue-jeans music of Bryan Adams, check out Into The Fire.
